UnitedHealthcare-Owned Change Healthcare (CHC) Cyber Security Incident

As you may have read in the news, the UnitedHealthcare owned company – Change Healthcare (CHC) experienced a cybersecurity incident the week of February 22nd resulting in widespread security concerns across the healthcare industry.

Who is Change Healthcare?

Change Healthcare is a key player in the healthcare industry, providing a wide range of services and solutions to healthcare providers, payers, and patients. The company’s systems contain vast amounts of sensitive information, including patient records, financial data, and other confidential information.

Impact to OCA’s Clients

Change Healthcare is the printing vendor of OCA’s technology partner (Alegeus). To ensure our clients data would not be adversely affected, Alegeus and OCA are neither sending data to, nor receiving data from, CHC. As a result, print services including reimbursement checks, statements, HSA tax forms and other items routed via CHC are currently unavailable.

Please note there are no application programming interfaces (APIs) or other interfaces between OCA’s platform instance and CHC’s systems. All our other services continue to operate as usual. Alegeus is working to establish a new printing provider.

We anticipate this relationship will be go live the week of March 18th. OCA will communicate directly with employers to explain the impact of the CHC cyber incident. We will make a concerted effort to support participants to set up direct deposit. This will ensure that delayed checks do not cause financial hardships for participants.

We apologize for the inconvenience. We will provide additional updates as soon as we have more information. Thank you for your patience and understanding as we work to have this issue resolved.
